About me:
Hi, thanks for visiting my portfolio page. It is still a work in progress but aren't all of ours.
I started out sanding helmets part-time for a well known Henderson artist, Shawn Ealy. He owns and operates his own business, Shawn Ealy Designs. Not only is he famous for his award winning art, he is also a community leader, a musician, a good friend and an excellent mentor. From his shop, I learned the basics of paint preparation and techniques. I was also lucky enough to learn an early version of CorelDraw to make stencils and vinyl logos. Mr. Ealy taught me many things throughout the years, but in a nutshell he taught me to think outside the box.
In 2002 I was hired at United Sign Inc. (formerly Sign Designs). There I had the pleasure of working under the tutelage of Brian Scroggins. Mr. Scroggins is an exceptional layout artist with a degree from BYU. Most of everything I designed ended up as vinyl, but as the company grew, so did the technology. I was very lucky to have learned how to work with Enroute, a program made to run a C&C routing table which we used to create custom shapes out of a variety of substrates. Brian Scroggins taught me the fundamentals of thinking inside the box and sending clear messages on the commercial signage we made.
Then in 2005 I was surprised with a phone call from Nevada Beverage Company, a distributor of Budweiser. As a graphic designer, I currently work with a variety of programs (mainly CorelDraw X4) to create brand specific banners, signs and other printed multimedia. Our facility has a small army of HP 6100, HP 5000 UV and Dye printers, small format Okidata printers, a vinyl plotter and a Titan 6400 laminator.
Currently I have an Associate of Arts degree in Graphic Design from CSN. I am working towards receiving a Bachelors degree in graphic design at UNLV. I am interested in moving towards the world of animation using CS4, Flash, After Effects, etc,. Right now, I mainly work with a variety of programs such as CorelDraw, Photoshop CS4 and Illustrator CS4.
I have been very fortunate to have learned such a broad spectrum of the graphic design career field. I look forward to new technologies, programs and new applications.
